COACH BERNARD COMER

Bernard T. Comer brings with him a true passion for athletics and more than 10 years of exemplary coaching experience. Coaching both football and track and field, Coach Comer has worked with student-athletes at Virginia Union University, Virginia State University, and Benedictine High School. No stranger to athletics himself, Coach Comer proudly holds records in the 4x100 at Virginia State University, was an NCAA Division II All-American for the 100m, and holds numerous records for indoor and outdoor track and field in the Colonial District High School, as well as records for football and track and field at Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, VA.
Coach Comer has a deep commitment to working with students of all ages. Since 2004, he has served as an Exceptional Education teacher across Richmond, Petersburg, Henrico, and now Chesterfield County Public Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Virginia State University. In addition to his work in education, Coach Comer has over a decade of experience as an Intensive In-home Counselor for at-risk youth in the Richmond area.
In his free time, Coach Comer enjoys traveling across the U.S. and spending quality time with his three amazing children, friends, and family.
Coach Comer is excited to step into his new role as Director of the program, where he looks forward to leading a successful season and continuing to make a positive impact on all student-athletes.
